Radex, It is also known as Ladle / Tundish covering compound. In The steel melting shop after preparing liquid steel in ladle and before it cast, some time gape is there, due to this time gap at what temperature liquid steel has been poured in ladle,
The same temperature we could not get at the time of Casting, it will lesser, because when molten metal comes in contact with atmosphere temperature very rapidly go slow down and a thick layer of slag forms on the top of metal.
Due to that smooth & continuous casting is not possible and wastage of refractory lining, steel also. Sometime blow holes, cracks and ladle also can stocks. To avoid all these problems, radex which is packed in hdpe bag of wt appox 7-8 kg, spread on top of molten metal by throwing on. Our radex quickly spread on full top area of metal and makes blanket on the top of molten metal .
It avoids atmospheric contact and act as a good insulator and temperature does not come down in the ladle. It prevents radiation heat losses and at the same time reduce reoxidation .
It improves quality of steel and get the approximately same temperature at which poured, get smooth & hazard free castings. Our radex is Husk base, contain exothermic compound and in nature. It is excellent insulator, easily spreadable, gives pozzolon effect, with high melting point and not react with steel and refractory.
